Home Warranty vs. Home Insurance

Home Insurance vs. Home Warranty

What's the difference. They both sound like they are interchangeable but
they are different and protect you in different ways.

Home Insurance:
Is a policy that covers loss, damages or issues involving wind, theft, fire and water, etc.. that affect your home. The policy only covers the structure of your home, foundation, walls and roof & belongings but read your policy carefully and identify what is covered and not covered they can vary from policy to policy.

Home Warranty:
is a policy that covers the cost of repairs and replacements of certain appliances and systems in your home caused by everyday wear and tear, or from old age.

Your mortgage will require a home insurance policy to be purchase and maintained when you buy a home. The monthly payment of that insurance policy will be rolled into your mortgage payment.
The mortgage company will not require a home warranty.

You can always add, change, upgrade or downgrade your home insurance or home warranty.
They both have great benefits to homeowners but do different things.  ALWAYS! shop around and read the fine print.
